Welcome to the Puritan Inn.

Here you will find the collected works of over 600 Puritans and Non-Conformists as found on the public domain site EEBO-TCP. The things that make the following volumes stand out from those located on that site is, each work (over 5,000) has been ran through a computer generated, automated, spelling correcting script, correcting the spellings of around 20,000 unique errors previously found. The fonts of the works have also been updated, as well as the works being indexed in a convenient way, so that hunting down specific works within a corpus of over 5,000 may be achieved easier. The 5,000+ works have been "bundled" into around 2,000-3,000 page volumes, for easier download and transport, and within the volumes each work is separated by author. Each work can be downloaded, free of charge; and all text within the works in these volumes is in the public domain, and can be reproduced for any purpose; only these specific works themselves cannot be sold for profit or commercial gain. Please feel free to share non-commercially with no restrictions.

Each PDF is "bookmarked" natively, so if your perspective PDF viewer does not allow the use of bookmarks, feel free to download the volume and utilize one that does. This will make accessing specific works much easier; but also, feel free to enjoy these works on this site by following the table of contents and scrolling to the page number of the work you desire. This site is in the works, so will be updated regularly until all the volumes have been complete. As of now, there is projected to be about 225 volumes, give or take, that will include the entire EEBO-TCP Puritan and Non-Conformist Corpus.

For the sake of this collection, only historical Puritans and Non-Conformists, or those from 1500-1700 have been included, and while there were Arminian Puritans, and Catholic, Quaker, Brownist, Pilgrim, etc. Non-Conformists; only theologically reformed Puritans, Presbyterian, Baptist, and Congregational Non-Conformists, and CoE or Anglican clergy that were assistive or sympathetic to the Puritan cause have been included. We hope this collection blesses you by giving you free access to Puritan and Non-Conformist literature that may otherwise be inaccessible due to finances or region, and to any who would enjoy reading the Puritans whether they are financially blessed or not.

All of the names within this collection were taken from sources much more wise in the study of Puritans and Non-Conformists than me; such sources include:

Dr. McMahon, A Puritans Mind "Puritan Bio's," - Beeke & Pedersons "Meet the Puritans," - Brooks 3 vol. "Lives of the Puritans," - suggestions from the Puritan Board, - PRDL (Post Reformation Digital Library) "Puritans" section, - DNB (Dictionary of National Biography,) - PRTS (Puritan Reformed Theological Seminary) "Puritans" Section in their library database, - Turners 3 vol. "Original records of early non-conformity under persecution and indulgence," and other miscellaneous scholarly publications.

While the publications provided here are far from perfect, it is the best we can offer, and a vast improvement readably speaking, to the previous offering. Please forgive our feeble attempt in offering such errant publications; it is only our hope that the proliferation of Puritan literature will lead to spiritual revival and nourishment not only globally, but personally in the lives of individual believers. We pray that this site blesses you, in our pleasure to serve you; for the edification of His Bride, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, to the glorification of our merciful, and gracious God.

-- Soli Deo Gloria
